About Sabi

Our Name

Our name, Sabi, is inspired by the Japanese aesthetic that finds beauty in age, use, and imperfection. It reflects an appreciation for natural cycles of change and the quiet elegance that emerges over time. Like an object lovingly mended, Sabi celebrates the transformation that makes something truly unique. In each imperfection, we see the honest, beautiful story of its making.

Sabi's story

Founded in Wānaka, New Zealand, Sabi is the expression of Rebecca McGoun’s lifelong love for travel, interior design, and beautifully crafted furniture, objects, textiles, and art.
With decades of experience across architecture, renovations, and real estate, Becs has chosen the perfect time to bring her vision to life—curating and designing a collection that reflects her appreciation for soulful, intentional living.

Her journey with Sabi began with a connection to Indonesia that started at age 15. Over countless visits, Becs found herself continually drawn to the craftsmanship, culture, and timeless beauty of the pieces she encountered.

Sustainability and ethics are woven into everything Sabi does. Sabi works with traditional makers, uses natural and recycled materials wherever possible, and remains committed to sourcing and producing with care—for both people and the planet.

At Sabi, we embrace imperfection. The marks of the maker, the natural grain of the wood, and the subtle inconsistencies all tell a story. Our pieces aren’t trend-driven—they’re timeless pieces designed to grow with you and become even more beautiful with age.

Built on timeless aesthetics and modern luxury, the Sabi collection complements a range of interiors, bringing warmth, character, and enduring beauty into every space.

We invite you to explore the world of Sabi—where every piece is designed to resonate, inspire, and transform your home.
